Hello everyone!
My name is Luc Jacobs. I am the new Ambassador of Belgium to Ukraine. Recently, I presented my credentials to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy. It is a big honour and a privilege for me to represent Belgium in Ukraine. This is my second term as Ambassador in your beautiful country.
The long-standing ties of friendship and the dense collaboration between Belgium and Ukraine have not been shaken by the brutal war of aggression that Russia has inflicted on the Ukrainian people. Quite the contrary.
Emboldened by the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian nation, Belgium was quick to provide military support and to commit diplomatic resources to Ukraine’s just cause in the EU, in the Euro-Atlantic community, and UN. We engage important financial resources to alleviate humanitarian needs of the Ukrainian population. We are currently in the start-up phase of a tangible contribution to the reconstruction and recovery of Ukraine.
This is a sizeable investment, but there is no room for complacency. I am fully conscious of the hope Ukraine puts in all its allies, also in my country, to walk that extra mile in order for this investment to have the desired outcome: a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.
Dear friends!
Within a broad and determined coalition, Belgium and Ukraine are engaged in a common cause that involves our governments, business communities, civil organisations and citizen initiatives. It is very motivating to be again in a position to work together with all of you.
I am glad that during my mission I can rely on the professional team of the Embassy.
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Belgium!
